Bio: Cai Hall
Cai Hall is a New York City based writer and director.
By the age of eight, Cai could be found with a borrowed VHS camera, directing a large cast of stuffed animals. This passion for the visual arts continued, eventually taking her to Ithaca College, where she graduated with a degree in Cinema and Photography from the Roy H. Park School of Communications. While there, Cai wrote, directed and produced over half a dozen original films.
In 2007, she began focusing her energy on cinematography. She worked as director of photography on several music videos and short films including The Blaire Reinhard Band’s “Gutterbottom Blues” and “Wishful Thinking”, The Middle Eight’s “World of Forms”, “What Happened on the Fourth Date” (2008) and “Bleecker” (2009). She has also worked as a camera assistant for several short and feature films, commercials and television shows, including “Nurse Jackie Season 2” and “Sex and the City 2” (2010).
Cai co-founded Aligned Creative, LLC in January 2008, serving as Production Manager and Director of Communications, before returning to directing.
In 2009 Cai wrote and directed the short film “The Housewife”. She has directed projects for comedy writer Kerry O’Brien and Samsung Electronics America.
She is currently in preproduction on a reality series for Suede Management & Bookings, Inc. and an original film, scheduled to begin production Summer 2010.
