A whole lotta shakin’ going on
Hey groovy folks out there in blogs-ville!
Once Upon a Time in Brooklyn (OUATIB) is rocking & rolling.
I’m assembling a crazy good soundtrack (and have brought on a soundtrack supervisor). Several indie bands have come on board already, and I had a productive phone call with Daptone Records earlier this week. We’re building a hot narrative trailer with an awesome Daptone single now. It will launch July 4th.
In the meantime Sam built us a sexy sneak peak for us. If you’re reading this, go to my website and download this now: www.nickblake.com/season1trailer.mp4. I’m taking it down soon, and then it’ll be gone for good.
Speaking of website … I got ours working. www.onceuponatimeinbrooklyn.com. Splash page for now. more to come!!
But wait, there’s more!
The first few episodes are being spliced together as we speak. A hot art director has come on board to help with t-shirt & sticker design as well as a cohesive look & feel for the show itself. And we’re assembling a music team for theme & incidentals.
I’ve got a special request for everyone in blogsville: if you know anyone who writes for any papers, or is a radio DJ who’d like to talk to a fun crew of people about a crazy webisode comedy series they’re launching free on YouTube mostly because it sounded like a fun thing to do when the recession was hot and we were all fired, tell me who you are and when we can talk. This can be anywhere in the world, really — we all Skype. Within the USA we can all call in.
I’m going to be signing off the blog now and turning things over to Ben. He came on to the project to play Coworker Dave, and has turned out to be a real amazing source of inspiration. He hadn’t spoken in like 15 years before this … not because we never got along, but just because you go places in life and somehow always end up reconnecting back home. He’s really great, has a ton of energy and is turning into an excellent writing partner. I’m looking forward to seeing where this collaboration leads.
Well, back to the hustle for me. Hope you’re all well and I’ll see you on the other side of the rainbow.
